Sunway Pyramid Marilah! Yozakura Ranbo 6 October, Sunway Pirami

The dance chapter begin................

When Edward sensei told us, the members of the 'nihonnoodorikurabu', that we're going to perform for the Yozakura Ranbo at Sunway Pyramid everybody was kind of, "Oh my, the new chapter of the hell was just begin"... haha...whoever was going to think that they were going to dance there at the Sunway Pyramid when all these times we went there for shopping, ice-skating or anything related............

For the event, we had to learn steps for three different dances that were the sakura jazz, sakura ranbo and........ ooopss...i totally forgot the other one.... gomen.. hehe.. A day, before the real day that was on the 5th of October 2003,we had our rehearsal at Sekolah Sains Seri Puteri, Kuala Lumpur (formerly known as Sekolah Seri Puteri). We had our rehearsal along with the dancers that were from different colleges and outsiders who were also interested in learning the Japanese dance. Some of them were even makcik- makcik.. :p

But something that beyond our mind was we also had the dancers from Shizuoka, Japan. WOW! what a superb thing was they came to Malaysia using their own money in order to together merrier the Yozakura Ranbo event. You can even saw atuk- atuk J- poon  dancing. What a sporting atuk. :> We got to know each other and the handsome-sweet PPKTJ dancers easily made friends with them.

Dub.. dab.. dub.. dab.. the day!. This was our first performance and surely everyone was nervous yet excited. We already had another rehearsal at the Sunway Pyramid itself during the morning....and now...gosh!...our real performance! It was 3pm and Sunway Pyramid was packed with the 'okiakusang'. Oh no! the mass media men were also there too, not only from Malaysia but also from Japan. The music started and letting go all those 'hazukashi' feeling, we let our body moved to the beat.

We ended our event with a small farewell party at one of the Thai food restaurant that was located inside of the Sunway Pyramid. Although all the food served were 'oishi', all of us were much more interested in 'beramah mesra' with those dancers from Japan. We made use of the opportunity to ask them anything we wanted to know about Japan, able to practice our chokai and kaiwa at the same time and also telling them anything they wanted to know about Malaysia. We together sang the Doraemon song and the Rasa Sayang song. It was such a superb and wonderful gathering between two different nations.

We would like to record our deepest gratitude to our beloved dance guru, Mr. Edward for all those patience in teaching us the steps, the moral supports and the believe we can do it. This appreciation also goes to Puan Hasparina who was there watching our performance, taking our photos and the endless moral support she gave. To Kak Su and her family, they were there all those times to accompany us, thanks ,millions of it. To those who were involved directly or indirectly, thank you very much.

Last but not least, i also wanted to share something beautiful that i had learned throughout the event.

I knew this beautiful women named Hideko whom i called her Hideko chang (i added the word 'chang' when she started to call me nururu chang ).For 5 months learner like me, my nihongo was terrible but that didn't made a problem for us to communicate in knowing each other. From 'the-hands-plays-the-majority-role-than-the-mouth' conversation, i knew that, she was a dentist who lived in Shizuoka with her family, she loves to swim, not yet married but already had a boyfriend whom few years older than her, she loves to dance and she used to perform in her country, that was her first time came to Malaysia but she once went to Indonesia before, she explained to me the meaning of the words behind the shirt she was wearing, etc...etc....I guess between two persons who able to communicate in the same language also couldn't know that much.

The fact that I'm not only wearing tudung but also in black from top to toe (if you 're a free-thinker, you're going to be 'kowai' sees me.. looked much more horrible than the 'obake'... haha........), tells me that it seems there's no guidelines in making friends with whoever as long as you open your heart, honest and just be yourself! Remember, be yourself! You don't believe me? Give a try then.... haha... gotcha...
