Student Motivation Course 2 16 February, Hotel Sri Malaysia, Bagan Lalang

Nutty...

The trip to Bagan Lalang began once again as we began our second motivation course. It is expected that this time we would be provided with a much better facility then the first. The first was not that good as the facility was quite bad. Water supplies would be cut off once in a while and those who were unlucky were caught off while they were bathing. However, this time we would be living in a different place which seem to be a resort to me rather than a hotel. My first thought when I heard that we would be living in a hotel was that the rooms would be air-conditioned and that the service would be more satisfying. I felt happy.

During the trip, I had noticed some views that I had not noticed the first time I came to Bagan Lalang. The houses were quite far from the city and some of them were quite isolated from the others but most of them were close to the highway which grant the occupants easy access to the road. It was quite boring during the trip but I had the pleasure listening to the music that was played in the bus. We reached there at about noon if I was not mistaken. It was very hot and I tried to hide from the blazing heat from the sun. We went to have our lunch right after we collected our baggages with Randy leading the way. A bird's chirping caught my ears as I began my way to the caferteria as it was a unique kind of chirping I have not heard before.

Right after we finished gobbing up all our food we headed to the meeting hall. Putting our bags outside, we entered the hall. The cool air inside the room caught me and it felt good especially during this kind of hot weather. The first thing on the table that caught my eyes was a cup filled with sweets. I had to move fast to claim what was available before the others did so but as usual they were faster and in seconds all the sweets were gone.

The facilitators came and we began our motivation course but first we were given the keys to our rooms. The facilitators were quite serious when they mentioned about us willing to continue with the courses. There is always a catch when such people asked that sort of question like those who wished to quit now had to walked back to KL as no buses would be provided for them.

It started first when we began to introduce ourselves to those who wished to know more about us and had not gotten the chance to do so. It was funny that some of us still managed to be ignorant of the others as we had been together for about a year.
The most memorial thing happened was when the facilitators asked us to break a hard nut using only our hands. I managed to break two nuts and what I learnt from this activity is that we must always believe in ourselves and we can achieve anything if we believe in ourselves. During our free time, I went to the beach and there I saw lots of small crabs that moved along the sandy beach. They looked like tiny people to me seen from a very far view. I wondered whether this is how God see us from heaven above. Well, I learnt quite a lot from the motivation course but some of us told me that the motivation did not motivate them. Whether the motivation is effective or not we will see the result in our final examination.
